Check Your Expectations
Love always protects, believes all things, endures all things, hopes all things. Love never fails. Did the lesson you so carefully prepared seem to fall on deaf ears? Did your students seem totally unaffected by your object lesson? Did the craft you tried flop? Have you ever gone home disappointed in your students or in yourself?
It's time to check your expectations. We want the children to have fun, and we want the lesson to have impact. But don't forget that God may have a different plan for your lesson. Maybe you were concentrating on an awesome object lesson when God was more concerned with a child who needed to talk about what was going on at home. Maybe you felt that noone really got the point of your lesson when God used the lesson to launch a child down the road to full time ministry. You don't know what God is doing. You do the outside work; God does the inside work. Don't judge your lessons soley on what you see outside. God is love, and he never fails.
